Duet is loosely based on a scene from the film Sophie’s Choice (1982 Alan . J. Pakula) where Kevin Kline and Meryl Streep play a duet at the piano. At first glance the audience sees a woman playing on her own, but as the piece ends, and as the title suggests, it is revealed that all is not as it seems. The original score was written and played by composer John Barber.
