Ellie is an Associate Lecturer at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. She has been a visiting tutor at art colleges across the UK including: Edinburgh College of Art, Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, Wimbledon College of Art, and Aberystwyth School of Art.
She is currently an adviser for the Enterprise Centre for the Creative Arts (ECCA) at the University of the Arts London. In 2009 she finished a research paper for the CLIP CETL in Personal Professional Development for fine art students.
Ellie is an experienced workshop leader and is committed to community and outreach work in schools, galleries and other not-for-profit organisations. She has collaborated with people of all ages and abilities for The South London Gallery, Tate Britain, The National Youth Orchestra and Spitalfields Festival.
In 2004, having never worked in opera before, Ellie was asked to make a video for a production of Handel’s Semele, for Buxton Opera Festival. In 2005 she received her second commission by English National Opera for For The Public Good, a new piece by Orlando Gough celebrating the centenary anniversary of The London Coliseum.
She then went on to participate in the Jerwood Opera residency at Aldeburgh Music in 2007, where she met Composer Elspeth Brooke and poet/librettist Jack Underwood. In 2008 the trio were awarded a Jerwood Opera fellowship to devise a new opera.
In 2008 Ellie designed video sets for Monteverdi’s Tancredi and Clorinda and Cage’s Fourteen for the Almedia Theatre opera festival. In the same year she was also the designer on a student production of The Rake’s Progress at Trinity Laban.
